Welcome to NYCASE!

NYCASE Mission Statement

The New York Council of Special Education Administrators (NYCASE) is a professional organization that provides leadership and support to members by advocating on the shaping of policies and practices which impact the quality of special education services for students with disabilities. NYCASE will participate actively in the improvement of special education programs in the State of New York. 

Dear Members,

In an effort to support our membership NYCASE continues to post the most recent Federal and State updates to Special Education and Section 504 on our website. We are also continuing to provide a series of virtual update professional development opportunities throughout the year. It is our desire that the NYCASE website be your single point of entry to access updates and resources without having to scroll through an endless sea of e-mails. Now that we have transitioned to our new website, we have migrated some of these content areas to the "Member's Only" section. This will allow us to focus our efforts on the members of our organization and to continue to provide the high quality supports that our membership has come to rely on.

 Member Spotlight 

We are honored to recognize

Dr. Bethany England

Director of Special Education at Eldred Central School District

Dr. England shared with us that she is celebrating recently receiving her doctoral degree in special education. She focused on increasing parent involvement. Dr. England is in the process of writing a book about the stages of acceptance reflecting on her experience as a parent of an adult child with autism.  

When asked about her future goals Dr. England shared that she will complete writing her book and seek opportunities to begin speaking to groups. 

In response to the question what do you love most about your work she added: I love empowering staff, students and families.   

Dr. England's work and perspective demonstrates the fundamental tenets of the New York Council of Administrators of Special Education organization.  We are proud to recognize her and have her as member of NYCASE. This photo of Dr. England was taken at the NYCASE July 2025 conference in Albany NY.
